One day, while casually browsing the internet for āgallery, photos, rhinoplasty,ā I was VERY LUCKY to discover Dr. Ina Isacās website, and after browsing it, I was pleasantly surprised by the ābefore and afterā photos of various patients who had undergone rhinoplasty and by Dr. Isacās impressive resume.I scheduled a consultation (in February) with Dr. Isac; she was very kind and very punctual, and she explained everything there was to explain, and whatās more, she told me she wouldnāt use those painful splints that prevent you from breathing for the next 48 hoursāinstead, she would use silicone tubes. Also on that same day, the doctor determined that I had a slight deviated septum based on three X-rays taken from different anglesāwhich surprised me, since the āspecialistsā at Panduri had initially told me something else. The truth is that I did have a deviated septum, but I wasnāt aware of it; I thought I just had a cold most of the time, etc. The day of the surgery, February 8, 2011, was very hard to bear, because I had been waiting for it for SO long. I wasnāt nervous at all, which was partly due to the confidence I gained from my conversation with Dr. Ina Isac.At 9 a.m., I fell asleep under general anesthesia, and at 2 p.m. (Iām not sure) I woke up. The surgery lasted 5 hours, and now I realize that it really is a delicate, meticulous, and complex procedure, and Iām not sure how well it could have been performed in just 2 hours, as some other doctors do. I was able to breathe through the silicone tubes right from the start; though slightly disoriented after the anesthesia, I managed to eat (something soft and pureed) and didnāt have any headaches at all (which, to be honest, I had expected to have).I was hospitalized for 48 hours, during which time I noticed that the āSteauaā Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Hospital is a pleasant environment with kind nursesāa hospital that comes close to Western standards. The silicone tubes were removed without any problems or significant pain, just as Dr. Ina Isac had promised me. After being discharged, I continued a course of medication recommended by Dr. Isac for 5 days. I forgot to mention that I had only a few small bruises after the surgery, which PROVES the precision with which the procedure was performed.After 10 days, the splint was removed, and take my word for it, I still canāt believe how well it turned outāthe profile is phenomenally beautiful, a straight, masculine nose, not a āfeminizedā one.Although my nose is still swollen, I can already say that Iām very satisfied! I donāt regret this decision at all, and I can always say the same thing to any future patient. I didnāt feel any pain at all; the only pain I had was in my handā¦ because of the IV, but on the second day they moved the IV to a different spot and it was fine.I recommend that anyone considering this type of surgery go ahead with confidenceāit doesnāt hurt at all.
